Andrew Hardisty
Director & Senior Valuer

Andrew was educated in Easingwold, Bishop Burton College and then Newcastle University where he graduated with honours in Agriculture and Estate management. Whilst at University, being a young entrepreneur, he purchased two properties to rent out in the Leeds area and that’s where his love of property began.

After graduating Andrew initially began his career in farming and whilst that is also one of his life’s passions the passion for property took over and he decided to diversify into Estate Agency in 2002. Andrew purchased the business of Waite & Co Horsforth and since then has acquired both the Guiseley and Otley Offices and joined forces with his two brothers Ian and Peter. Andrew believes in a strong and hard working ethic and bases his business practices on being independent and family run where commitment, dedication and quality of service is paramount.

Andrew and his two brother’s focus on what the customer wants and they ensure that their full range of services are available seven days a week and early evenings to allow their clients the opportunity to take advantage of viewings and valuations at times to suit their busy lifestyles. Andrew now resides in Rawdon with his wife and four young children and is heavily involved in the local community.

Business Development Manager

Tracey has been working in the estate agency industry since 1986 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Tracey began her career in the Bramley area of Leeds working for a small independent estate agent. Throughout her career she has experienced the corporate and independent worlds of estate agency and quickly decided that the work ethic and personal service offered by the independent estate agent determined a definite pathway which she wanted her career to take.

Tracey moved to work in the Horsforth area of Leeds in 1989 and this is where she has settled and remained. Tracey is highly regarded and respected within the profession and has a wealth of valued and loyal clients. She now holds the position of area manager overseeing the Horsforth residential sales and lettings divisions and the Guiseley and Otley offices. Tracey has an extremely strong work ethic, focused on family values and ensures that her loyal, committed and motivated teams are on top of their game and provide a first class service to all of our clients.

Victoria Everett
Branch Manager

Victoria was educated and grew up in the Leeds area. Upon leaving school Victoria’s career headed into the public sector where she trained and became a nurse. After several years she settled down to begin her family and a career break shortly followed to dedicate time to raising her first child. After some time Victoria felt ready to return to work, however, felt that this was an ideal opportunity to change career and diversify into the property sector. Initially she joined a local independent estate agent as a part time sales negotiator and quickly worked her way through the ranks to valuer/manager. After a second career break Victoria temporarily re-joined the public sector working for the education authority in order to find a happy balance between home and working life but her passion for property continued and she quickly re-joined the estate agency industry working for a corporate agent. Victoria has been working in the industry now for in excess of ten years and joined our company in the summer of 2105. She has an excellent knowledge and wealth of experience and heads up our superb team of property professionals at the Horsforth Office.

Assistant Manager

Richard was educated at Northallerton College and completed his A levels before leaving to commence his further higher education at Leeds Metropolitan University. Rich graduated in 2010 and commenced his working life, firstly, in recruitment. In 2012 Richard found an opportunity to diversify his career path to Property and joined the Hardisty team, working from the highly successful flag ship office at Horsforth as a trainee sales negotiator. Rich quickly moved up the ranks to senior sales negotiator and then to assistant manager.

Richard has proven his excellent abilities in a very short space of time and provides a top class, professional service to all of his clients. He is an extremely organised and motivated individual who is growing from strength to strength. Rich successfully completed his Technical Award in Residential Estate Agency in 2013 and continues to progress with his career path with pace and now holds the position of Assistant Manager.

Jamie Gathercole
Senior Valuer

Jamie who is originally from Hull attended Wolfreton School and achieved his A levels in sixth form. At a young age Jamie decided that further education wasn’t for him and very early on wanted to grasp working life head on. His career set off in the hospitality and catering industry working in bars and then restaurants. Jamie soon worked his way up to management level and excelled in customer service and engaging with his clients. Jamie moved to Leeds in 2007 when he decided that he wanted his career to move forward in a different direction. Jamie joined a large conveyancing firm and instantly fell in love with the property market, conveyancing and all aspects of the industry but Jamie missed the client engagement. Within a short space of time he moved to a successful Leeds city centre estate agent valuing and negotiating in both sales and lettings and he quickly set up excellent working relationships with a substantial client portfolio. Jamie joined the Hardisty team in April 2014, Valuing at the Horsforth office and has never looked back since! Jamie lives locally and has an excellent knowledge of the area and has now achieved his MNAEA.

Phillip has always lived in Horsforth, Leeds and attended Horsforth High School where he achieved his GCSE’s and A-Levels. In 2010 Phil joined Leeds City College studying business where he progressed to his final year in 2012 finishing his degree at Leeds Metropolitan University; graduating BA Hons in business. After a short break following his studies Phil joined the Hardisty team, Horsforth in 2013 as a trainee sales negotiator. With his hard work, commitment and training Phil quickly progressed to a fully qualified sales negotiator achieving his MNAEA in September 2014. Phil is now an accomplished negotiator who is extremely dedicated to his clients and provides a first class service in all aspects of his role. Phil is an exceptional communicator and a highly driven and motivated individual, ensuring that he achieves the best possible price for the properties under his care and provides a comprehensive after sales service and holds the position of Senior Sales Negotiator at the Horsforth Office.

Charlotte Thompson
Senior Sales Negotiator

Charlotte lives locally and attended Benton Park High School until sixth form and left at eighteen with her A levels. Initially Charlotte set off on her career path working in debt purchasing in Leeds City Centre. Over four years Charlotte experienced three different roles mainly in customer and client services. Charlotte decided to have a gap year and left to travel alone, backpacking travelling in Australia, Fiji and South East Asia. During her travels Charlotte gained excellent people and life skills working in call centre sales, restaurant and bars. When Charlotte retuned to the UK she worked as par planner for a Horsforth based firm of financial advisers, mortgage brokers, wealth management for the retirement and investment planning. However, Charlotte has always had a close connection and interest in the property market as her parents have worked in property for many years and she therefore had a desire to progress within the property industry. An opportunity arose In April 2014, when Charlotte joined the Hardisty team at the flagship office in Horsforth as sales negotiator. Charlotte is already a very accomplished and professional estate agent and has achieved her MNAEA.

Sales Negotiator

Georgina completed her “A” levels at Farnley Park Academy and during her time of study began working for the Hardisty team, Horsforth, in October 2013 as a part time/weekend negotiator and administration assistant. After completing her studies she started full time with the company, in June 2014, as a full time trainee sales negotiator. Georgina has already gained a wealth of experience and a great knowledge of the local area and is already part way through her studies for her MNAEA and hopes to qualify within the next few months. Georgina is a valued, conscientious and committed member of the team who is showing the early signs of an accomplished estate agent and sales negotiator. She is hard working and always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to service the needs of all of her clients.

Property Administrator

Lucy has always lived locally and attended Horsforth High School where she completed her GCSE and A level exams. She began her working career in 2010 firstly working in a local barber shop and then the Horsforth Golf Club where she assisted with general day to day duties and special events and occasions. However, Lucy has always had an interest and has been involved with her family’s interiors and property business and from a young age decided that this was the industry she wanted to become more involved with and the career path she wanted to pursue. Lucy joined the Hardisty team in 2014 and has a wealth of knowledge of the local area and is currently working from both the Horsforth and Guiseley Offices. Lucy is undergoing her studies for her MNAEA.

Sales Negotiator

Joy was born and raised in Rawdon, which is where she started her career in property working in the After Home sales department of Waite and Co, she then progressed to Easy start homes where she was a property buyer for first time buyers. Joy wanted to further her career after a number of years, and so went on to becoming a property acquisitions consultant at Manning Staintons. After a year or so she went onto Pickerings Estate Agents to become a Sales Manager.  

 

Joy then decided it was time to take the plunge and start her own business (established in 2005 – JER Property Consultants), she has currently been running her business as a property consultant since that time. Since Joy started her own business she has gone on to be married, had two children; Jack (3 years old) and Stanley (2 years old). Due to the demand of family life Joy has started to reduce her business hours a little and is now sustaining a more stable career back in the office environment at HARDISTY AND CO, Horsforth.

Ann is the mum of the three proprietors of the business and is based at the Horsforth Office. She works there as a negotiator and administrator. Ann comes from a secretarial background which has given her an excellent grounding for the estate agency industry where attention to detail is fundamentally important.

She is extremely organised, efficient and is an excellent communicator and is dedicated to providing her clients with a top class and complete service. Ann is an excellent all rounder and strives to give the best and most professional advice to all of her clients. Ann is committed to the business and is a valued and highly respected member of the team at the Horsforth Office and she is often around long after the office has closed ensuring that her clients receive an optimum service.

Paul was born and raised in Adel, Leeds and was educated at Ralph Thoresby High School where he completed his GCSE’s and A levels. Paul left school in 1998 when he began his early career in property working for a small independent estate agent. After he had gained some initial experience he left to join his father in their family business managing a small portfolio of investment properties and carrying out various duties as a surveyor’s assistant drawing floorplans and completing general administration. In 2002 Paul began incorporating into his role joinery, bathroom and kitchen fitting and general property maintenance which gave him a great platform for his role today. In 2007 he qualified as a DEA and worked successfully for himself until 2012 when he joined the Hardisty team in Horsforth. Paul achieved his APIP (Association of Professional Inventory Providers) qualification in 2014. Paul is a valued member of both the residential sales and property management teams carrying out EPC’s, photography and other associated business for the lettings division.

Ashley has lived in Horsforth and Rawdon for most of his life and attended Horsforth High School where he completed his GCSE examinations. Whilst Ashley was studying at high school he completed his work experience here and that is where his love of property began. He went on to take a part time job with the company as an office junior and administration assistant whilst attending Park Lane College where he completed his BTEC level 3 in business studies. Ashley commenced working for the company, full time in 2013 and has since qualified as a Domestic Energy Assessor in 2014. Ashley is an accomplished photographer and forms a valued part of the DEA, Photographic and administrational team based at the Horsforth Office.

Over the last 30 years, Jo has moved from place to place within the UK however, she settled in the local area 15 years ago and now resides in the popular village of Rawdon. After moving houses so many times, Jo feels she has experience in what buyers/sellers expectations are and has always had a keen interest in renovating property.

 

Jo works within the International Travel Industry and because of this prides herself on exceptional customer service; a huge part of her role as well as being a problem solver. Jo now looks to spend more time at home with her family and friends which has led her to HARDISTY AND CO to carry out accompanied viewings on a part time basis, this means she is able to work in a family run environment, and incorporate her passion for property.

When Hannah first left school she commenced employment in the public sector. It wasn’t long before Hannah found her interest in property and diversified to work in a valuers office in Leeds. Her interest in the residential sales market began to grow and she began working two jobs; part time within the business at Horsforth in order to gain more experience and knowledge of the residential housing market and estate agency. Hannah very quickly displayed an excellent enthusiasm, drive and desire to succeed and joined the team, full time, in 2009. Due to her massive ambition, determination and commitment Hannah very quickly developed her career moving swiftly to a sales negotiator, senior sales negotiator and then branch manager. During her time with the company Hannah has achieved her industry qualifications with the National Association of Estate Agents and has also become a qualified energy assessor. Before having her first child Hannah was very successfully managing the Guiseley Office but has re-joined the team at Horsforth as a marketing and media assistant to maintain a good balance between her professional and family life.

Ian Hardisty
Director & Head of Lettings

Ian Hardisty was educated in Easingwold and Askham Brian College and enjoyed an initial career in engineering. From an early stage in his career Ian knew that property was where his heart was and because his background was from a more practical and technical profession he knew that property lettings and management was the area of the estate agency business he would excel in.

Ian launched the residential lettings and property management division at the Horsforth Office and since then this area of the business has gone from strength to strength. Ian now heads up the department with his ARLA qualified, extremely professional and very well respected assistant manager Maria Sylvio-Styles and they have a superb team of residential lettings staff providing an exceptionally comprehensive and professional service for landlords and tenants.

The division follows the work ethics of the rest of the company and they have a strong focus on customer service. The rental division is open seven days a week and offers an accompanied viewing service seven days a week to ensure landlords receive an optimum service and maximum exposure to potential tenants.

Daniel Andrews
Assistant Lettings Manager

Daniel was born in Horsforth and studied at Horsforth High School where he successfully achieved his GCSE’s and A level’s. While Daniel was a student in the 6th form he took a position working at the local Horsforth Hotel pub which enabled him to develop excellent people and communication skills. Daniel built up superb customer relationships and offered a friendly and efficient service during his time there. Daniel joined the Hardisty team in January 2014 and during his short time in the business working in the busy Rental Department at Horsforth he has grown from strength to strength and is proving to be an effective negotiator with fantastic dialogue between landlords and tenants to get the lets agreed! Dan also administers referencing and pre-move. Daniel is also gaining experience in the property management division and he is currently studying for his MARLA.

Lisa attended Abbey Grange High School until 2006 when she left to finish her further education at Park Lane College studying Travel, Tourism and Spanish. Lisa began her professional career in 2008 initially working as a care assistant for the elderly looking after them in their own homes and at that time achieved her NVQ Level 2 in Health and social care including domiciliary care. Whilst Lisa thoroughly enjoyed this avenue of work she felt that she hadn’t found the right career path and changed direction in 2010 and began working for one of the leading supermarkets as a supervisor. An opportunity arose in 2014 for Lisa to join the Hardisty team within the dynamic lettings and property management department in Horsforth and she’s never looked back since. Lisa has a great knowledge of the local area and holds the position of Lettings negotiator and is currently studying for her MARLA.

Amy was born in Horsforth and studied at the Horsforth Academy. At ten years old she moved to Greengates but continued and finished her education in Horsforth completing her GCSE’s before commencing sixth form. Amy has always had a desire to work and whilst studying for her exams she juggled two jobs, one part time in a day nursery and the other working in the family business with her mum learning the trade of a hairdresser. During her sixth form experience an opportunity arose for her to develop a career in telecoms and she pursued this avenue whist also waitressing in a local restaurant. Amy was offered a job managing a driving school in Horsforth and this is where she discovered her position with our company. Amy joined the business as a trainee lettings negotiator in the summer 2015 and has already displayed a very hard working ethic. Amy is a driven individual and has settled well into the lettings team and has commenced studying for her MARLA.

Amy is a local girl who has always lived and was educated in Horsforth attending Newlaithes Primary and then Horsforth High School where she completed her GCSE’s and A-Levels. In 2002 Amy left school and began her career joining Direct Line as administration support. She soon progressed with her career moving into engineering liaisons and then complaints handling dealing with home and engineering claims issues. During this time Amy stayed true to her local roots and worked at the Old Ball public house for seven years. In 2013 Amy had her first baby and once she was ready to return to work decided that she wanted to work locally to balance family and working life. Amy joined the company in the Spring of 2015 and now holds the position of part time sales negotiator based at the Horsforth Office. Amy has a superb dedication and commitment to the business and provides an excellent customer service to all.

Apprentice Lettings Negotiator

Thomas attended Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley until 6th form, however, Thomas had a burning desire to get out to work and decided that embarking on a career in retail would give him a good grounding for a future career in sales. After a short time Tom felt he wanted to experience different trades and worked for a while as a machine operator while working a second job at a golf club. Having got the taste for different jobs he decided that a career in sales and lettings was where he wanted to be and he joined a small independent agent as an apprentice. Thomas’ ambition thrust him to looking at his career development and progression in a much more serious way and he joined HARDISTY AND CO in 2016. Tom is a very ambitious and hardworking individual who is looking to complete his apprenticeship in the summer of 2017, when he will embark on his studies for his professional ARLA qualifications.

Area Manager

Ornella has lived and worked in the area for the past forty years and has worked in the housing industry ever since leaving school at fourteen. Her first job was working at Marshall and Gray Builders Merchants selling everything one would need for building and maintaining houses and she enjoyed this job for seven years. She then embarked on working for Ellmore Builders where, for ten years, she priced up building properties and then went on to work for Faithful and Gould Quantity Surveyors for a further eight years.

She then became a very well known face in Yeadon where she worked for a corporate company for sixteen years. Her wide knowledge and expertise made her the top Estate Agent for quite a number of years achieving the best possible price for her customers. Through trust and hard work, Ornella has so many customers that continue to use her. It is with great pleasure that we at HARDISTY AND CO welcome her on board.

Assistant Manager

James Idle holds the position of Assistant Manager at the Guiseley branch. Before developing his career into the property sector James’ previous experiences varied from catering and hospitability to the medical care sector giving him excellent experience with the general public and afforded him superb people skills and customer service. James is a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with incredible drive to succeed in the property sector and he is a superb communicator and negotiator. James is very much a family man living locally and he is keen to deliver a service second to none to his clients. James, after working for a large corporate company has joined our family run business in order to be able to echo his strong work ethic and commitment which reflect his and our family values. James also loves valuing properties and meeting the general public; he prides himself on providing a first class service and strives to achieve the best possible price for his clients. James, Area Manager Ornella and all the team aim to further develop and expand the Guiseley branch and to develop the business in all the surrounding areas. James enjoys hobbies outside of work which include fitness, weight training and spending time with his wife and children.

Maxine Mooney
Senior Sales Negotiator

Maxine attended Prince Henrys Grammar school in Otley and upon leaving school entered the world of customer and administrational services. After having gained much experience from a varied selection of employers Maxine had a career break to look after her young family. While Maxine was at home she developed a serious interest in property and successfully bought, renovated and sold a few properties of her own.

Once her family had grown up Maxine decided that she wanted to return to work and, initially, a career in the public sector, was her choice. Whilst working for the local government she obtained her European driving licence and a wealth of additional recognised qualifications including personal care, first aid, communicating with the deaf including first stage sign language and a foundation course in counselling skills. However, Maxine had a burning desire to work within the property industry and joined the Hardisty team in December 2006. Since joining, Maxine has developed a fantastic career in and a superb knowledge of the residential estate agency industry, property and the local area having experienced all aspects of the business. Maxine has achieved her MNAEA qualifications and holds the position of senior sales negotiator at the Guiseley Office.

Rebecca Dutton
Sales Negotiator

Rebecca has grown up in the local area all her life and moved to Farsley recently when she bought her own first home with her partner.

She started her working life originally in childcare employed at a pre-school in Harrogate for nearly five years. Rebecca wanted to reach back to the roots where she grew up and moved to a nursery closer to home in Greengates. During her time there Rebecca decided that she had a passion for more and she embarked on a career in estate agency working for a large corporate agent, where she received excellent training and a much grounded knowledge. However, Rebecca wanted to be more in touch, on a personal level, with her clients and colleagues and decided that the independent estate agent was more for her and joined HARDISTY AND CO in March 2017. Rebecca has a fantastic knowledge of the local area and excellent estate agency skills; she is a very driven individual who always goes the extra mile for her clients.

Andrew was educated in Easingwold, Bishop Burton College and then Newcastle University where he graduated with honours in Agriculture and Estate management. Whilst at University, being a young entrepreneur, he purchased two properties to rent out in the Leeds area and that’s where his love of property began.

After graduating Andrew initially began his career in farming and whilst that is also one of his life’s passions the passion for property took over and he decided to diversify into Estate Agency in 2002. Andrew purchased the business of Waite & Co Horsforth and since then has acquired both the Guiseley and Otley Offices and joined forces with his two brothers Ian and Peter. Andrew believes in a strong and hard working ethic and bases his business practices on being independent and family run where commitment, dedication and quality of service is paramount.

Andrew and his two brother’s focus on what the customer wants and they ensure that their full range of services are available seven days a week and early evenings to allow their clients the opportunity to take advantage of viewings and valuations at times to suit their busy lifestyles. Andrew now resides in Rawdon with his wife and four young children and is heavily involved in the local community.

Ornella has lived and worked in the area for the past forty years and has worked in the housing industry ever since leaving school at fourteen. Her first job was working at Marshall and Gray Builders Merchants selling everything one would need for building and maintaining houses and she enjoyed this job for seven years. She then embarked on working for Ellmore Builders where, for ten years, she priced up building properties and then went on to work for Faithful and Gould Quantity Surveyors for a further eight years.

She then became a very well known face in Yeadon where she worked for a corporate company for sixteen years. Her wide knowledge and expertise made her the top Estate Agent for quite a number of years achieving the best possible price for her customers. Stephanie completed her degree at the University of Leeds, graduating with BA (hons) in Textile & Surface Pattern Design, Designing Fashion and Furnishing Fabrics. After graduation Stephanie began in the retail world of ladies fashion working in a designer boutique. Stephanie gained a wealth of experience in every aspect including buying, merchandising, customer service and dealing with the general public. Stephanie left to start her family and became a fulltime mum to two boys. When the time was right she returned to work, part time, in a small independent estate agent in North Leeds, a role which she really enjoyed and gained a good experience carrying out accompanied viewings, administration and dealing with the public. Stephanie and her family moved to Otley in 2014 when she joined Waite & Co as a part time negotiator and accompanied viewer making a perfect balance to her home and professional life. Stephanie is a conscientious and committed staff member who has a passion for property, the business and customer service.

Abigail was born and raised in Horsforth and attended Horsforth High School where she completed her GCSE and A Level Exams. Abigail has always had an interest in the property industry and in 2015 joined a small independent North West Leeds estate agents to purse her interest and turn it into a career. Abigail wanted to advance her career and joined HARDISTY AND CO in 2016, she is now qualified to the industry standard MNAEA.

Ian Hardisty was educated in Easingwold and Askham Brian College and enjoyed an initial career in engineering. From an early stage in his career Ian knew that property was where his heart was and because his background was from a more practical and technical profession he knew that property lettings and management was the area of the estate agency business he would excel in.

Ian launched the residential lettings and property management division at the Horsforth Office and since then this area of the business has gone from strength to strength. Ian now heads up the department with his ARLA qualified, extremely professional and very well respected assistant manager Maria Sylvio-Styles and they have a superb team of residential lettings staff providing an exceptionally comprehensive and professional service for landlords and tenants.

The division follows the work ethics of the rest of the company and they have a strong focus on customer service. The rental division is open seven days a week and offers an accompanied viewing service seven days a week to ensure landlords receive an optimum service and maximum exposure to potential tenants.

Peter was educated in Easingwold and left school at eighteen to pursue a career in the restaurant industry. Peter was a homeowner from a very young age and this started a real interest in property. Peter continued with his restaurant career but had a great desire to move into estate agency. His brother Andrew eventually encouraged him to diversify in his career and in 2005 he joined the team at the Horsforth Office to fulfil his dream. The two brothers forged a partnership and joined forces and acquired the Guiseley Office in 2007. Peter now works behind the scenes ensuring that the business develops proactively and efficiently.

Tracey has been working in the estate agency industry since 1986 and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Tracey began her career in the Bramley area of Leeds working for a small independent estate agent. Tracey moved to work in the Horsforth area of Leeds in 1989 and this is where she has settled and remained. She now holds the position of area manager overseeing the Horsforth residential sales and lettings divisions and the Guiseley and Otley offices. Gemma was educated in Easingwold where she achieved her GCSE’s. She then went on to join York College and studied for two years completing an NVQ course in Health & Social Care. In 2000 Gemma embarked on her career working in York for a large insurance company. After five years Gemma felt ready for a change in direction and began working for the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association as a membership officer.

In 2005 Gemma changed companies and began working for Portakabin in the H.R. department. During this time Gemma married Ian and they decided the time was right to start their family. Following the birth of their first child they moved to Leeds and Gemma joined the family business and holds the position of HR Manager.
